About Us
COLWYN BAY VICTORIA SEA ANGLING CLUB was founded over fifty
years ago by a small group of keen sea anglers. The CBVSAC has grown into the
largest sea angling club in
The club has a licensed club house run
by the bar steward Steve Tinkler. It is situated on Rhos Promenade
opposite the large breakwater by Rhos Point and the bar is available during
normal licensing hours. There is also a social section, which is run by
Colwyn Sea Sports, where the social members can make use of all the facilities
available.
Angling sections are now based mainly on shore and boat
angling and both sections are very strongly represented at competition level.
The club holds open shore competitions throughout the year,
the culmination of which is the closed club Fur & Feather towards Christmas
when a vast array of prizes, mainly Christmas fare, is on offer to the
competing members. This is a very popular event where almost every angler
takes home anything from a large cash pool to an article of festive food.
The boat section runs a summer league from April through to
November each year and is well supported from boats as far away as the Wirral and
It is also worth noting that the Welsh Boat Home
International Team selected to fish in Ireland 2002 was made up entirely from
members of the CBVSAC boat section. The club was also responsible for the
organization of the very popular Colwyn Bay Bass Festival for over thirty
years. Unfortunately this festival no longer takes place.
It is an Angling Club run by it's
members for it's members.
It is a proud club which has produced
some well known and successful match anglers.
The club encourages all gender and age
groups to participate in club activities fairly and within any regulations
imposed upon it and expects members to honour the clubs name whilst taking part
in any fishing activity.
Membership fees, £15.00 plus £2.00 joining fee, are due from
the 31st March each year, but new members joining after 31st December each year
are entitled to immediate membership for the remainder of the year and also for
the following year.
